English Bulldog approved!
Exactly what we were looking for! This step is wider version of the Step II (Pet Gear Easy Step II Pet Stairs, 2-step/for Cats and Dogs up to 75-pounds). We tried the original Step II first, and while my dog was under the weight limit, we didn't think about the width - and this matters for our bulldog who's stance is much wider than an average 50 pound dog. This "extra wide" version is 6 inches wider and it's perfect! I also love that this step is easy to move, light, but still feels really sturdy. My dog is not afraid of it, which he was a bit of the smaller step, he was just too big and wide stanced for it. My dog has a leg injury and it's hard for him to jump and he's not sturdy when climbing stairs, this step makes getting up on the bed or couch so much easier for him. I'm really happy with this purchase.

I tried ramps and other steps for my 5 yr od great pyr to be able to get into the back seat of my 1500 Ram truck's club cab back seat , but he hated the ramp, and was unsteady on other steps. The easy step xtra wide is super easy to put together, light weight, handy to toss in truck bed after use, and is the perfect height. He has no hesitation because it's wide and sturdy enough for his paws (especially back legs) to step comfortably into vehicle. VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT!

Excellent for Large Breed Dog, doesn't take up space and Light Weight.
I've waited over a month to write this review. After searching for ramps and steps I took a chance on the Pet Gear Easy Step II Extra Wide in hope that my dog would be comfortable using it. The specifics are: the dog is a large breed, 112lb 9 month old puppy (Irish Wolfhound) and the car is BMW X5. We stopped lifting the puppy into the back passenger seats at 6 months...she was getting too heavy. However we didn't want her to jump out on her own as the height is over 3 ft. and the tender growing joints could suffer from the constant impact. Also, being a senior, I didn't want something heavy to lift, and expand every time we used it. The ramps also seemed to need extra room at the side of the car, a problem at the tight parking spaces at our dog park.
Results are that this product exceeds our expectations. The dog immediately used the steps to simply walk into the car. It took a week or so before she was comfortable walking out unaided. At first, I had to "guide" her to use the step going out...still, no more lifting on our part.
Best of all, it's sturdy...our dog will eventually reach 150 +/- lbs and the stairs will easily accommodate her. AND they'll fit at the side of the car within a normal parking space...no extra space needed as for a ramp. AND it's so light that I can lift it into place and store it at back of car with one hand while the other holds the leashed dog.
