    4Low costing air pump
    By Renbutsu
Positive review for this little air pump that is relatively quiet and it is adjustable. I would recommend one use a gang valve. Choose one with more connection than you need. Turn the knob on full, use the gang valve to adjust your amount of air. This way, you will avoid damaging your air pumps. One of the most asked question is "is it silent?". No, this is not silent, there is a slight buzz/hum, however your want to call it. No air pump is completely silent. Don't fall for the marketing hype. It depends on a lot of variables; how good your hearing is, where the pump is located, what it is located on, the environment of the room, size of pump, age of pump, etc.

UPDATE 11/12/13: The pump died within the last few days. Today I noticed no air in the tank. Very faint sound in the unit when I put my ear to it, I took apart the housing to check. The diaphragm is fine but the motor that causes the magnet to move the diaphragm is gone. So this pump lasted me roughly a little over a year (14 months). Not sure if that is reasonable or not. I generally do not utilize air pumps. Originally gave 5 STARS, updated to 4 STARS for now until I have more data on general. For the low price of ~$10 paid and the length of use, it's not bad. Ideally, I wish I could select 3 1/2 STARS. I will say that the output has been gradually weaker over time. I don't completely lay the blame on the pump though, it's been pushing air through the same bubble wand for the entire period and with minimum cleaning of the wand. I am planning to try a different brand as replacement. Will update which brand/model I settle with.

UPDATE 1/19/15: Long overdue update. I had to search in my email folder for the dates and here is the info, back in Dec 13', I emailed the company asking about warranty because I found that it is warrantied for 3 years. In late Jan 14', company emailed me back with procedure for warranty coverage. I sent in the broken pump and about Feb or Mar 14' I received back a replacement pump. The communication and replacement was not fast but the company did follow through replacing my pump with no problems. As of this posting date, replacement pump is still working, and has been running a sponge filter for a little under a year.

    5Quiet
    By R. Lang
Could be long, boring and thorough, but why? Nobody cares about the brand or appearance, this thing sits in a cabinet, hopefully never needing to be messed with or seen again.

The main issue with air pumps is noise. This pump is silent.

This pump delivers great air, and I can't hear it.

Why I dealt with the low buzz/hum of the Tetra pumps before is a mystery to me other than I didn't know better. When I think of all the other pumps I have had it terrariums or aquariums and my efforts to silence them (on carpet, in a box, in a cooler, towel over, etc) I wish I would have just gotten one of these instead.

Nobody cares about the look of the air pump, its color, whatever - all people want to do it plug it an and forget it is there. This pump is doing a great job of that.

4Powerful and quiet, but doesn't include a check valve
    By Silea
I must say, being new to fish-keeping, that i was pretty annoyed when i read through the instructions and discovered that they say you need a check valve in your tubing, but don't include one. They're really quite cheap, so while it's not a big deal to go buy one, it is a separate trip to the store or order on amazon, and a few days of waiting to actually install the product when they could have put one in the box at no significant cost.

So once i had my check valve (thanks amazon!) and set this pump up, i was pretty impressed. I knew the pump that came with my Aquafarm was pretty weak, but this pump seems to move about five times as much air as the old one.

    And it's quieter, too.
