... get the air bubbles out so they are totally useless to me
By DEBRA D. JEAKINS
I have had the regular vacuums where you have to prime by hand and I can never get the air bubbles out so they are totally useless to me. I decided to get this tank cleaner from Zacro to give it a shot. I have finally found a tank vacuum that doesn't take forever to get primed and I can whip thru vacuuming my fish tank in short order. The tubing is made of flexible material and you have a choice of using the "sieve" at the vacuum end on or off. I used it this morning to clean my ten gallon tank and the job was done quick. For a quick easy clean of your fish tank this is the best I have found yet.

Good for changing water but suction may be too strong for small rock gravel
I was in need of a new fish tank siphon and gravel vacuum as the one I had been using for several years finally broke. This Zacro vacuum did a decent job as a siphon for changing water but did not work as well as my old vacuum when it came to cleaning and vacuuming the small gravel at the bottom of my tank. The reason for this seems to be that the vacuum head on this product is shorter and the tubing is a little wider which combined together made for a more powerful flow of water and more suction. This would normally be good for a vacuum except that it sucked the small rock gravel pieces too strongly which blocked the opening allowing less debris to be suctioned up. The filter on the vacuum end did prevent the small gravel pieces from being sucked up completely which is good.
The strong water flow of this siphon could be advantageous if you are just changing water as it will take less time to complete. However, this also means that there is less time to vacuum the gravel when changing water and you may not be able to cover enough area of your tank before the water is drained. You could squeeze the tube with your hand or find something to clamp on the tube to reduce the water flow rate which also lowers the suction and helps with vacuuming the gravel.
The overall length of this vacuum tube is about 5.5 feet which was sufficient for my needs but could have benefited from an additional half foot of length. One other thing that I liked more about my old vacuum was that the vacuum head was wider and narrower allowing me to get into tighter spaces when cleaning. When starting the siphon I was not able to get it going just by squeezing the blue bulb. I had to first squeeze the bulb then put the vacuum end into the the tank and put my thumb on the tip of the tube and finally let go of the bulb then my thumb. I purchased this fish tank water vacuum at a discount in exchange for testing it and providing my feedback and review.
