Non-Floating Treats but liked by the Turtles
By H Clem
I purchased this for our two turtles a few weeks ago and we are content with the purchase. The product is listed on Amazon as: “R-Zilla 100109607 Real Clam Turtle Chasers Floating Treat, 2-Ounce”. This product shipped on time, was packaged well, and arrived on time. Bottom line is, they do not Float… but the turtles loved the treats. We had to pull the treat out of the watter and place on the dry dock, then it was game on! My two small red ear slider will attack and devour these treats. The turtles love them and the fish is happy with the scraps. The price is a bit high even on sale for a treat that is advertised to float and does not. Quantity is ok and will last the month doling out a few times a week. If you are like me and so many others who rely heavily on reviews to make an informed decision before purchasing, I hope this information has helped you make a decision to purchase it or not. I stand behind my recommendation for this turtle treat and you won’t get any complaints from my little zoo of animals. If my review is helpful, let me know by checking “YES” helpful.

Mrs Turtle loves 'em
Many of these reviews are a puzzle to me. I have a 9 inch RES (she turns 20 next year Oct 2015!!!) and she absolutely loves them. She goes after these faster than her regular food. Now, mine didn't sink, they floated. I don't know how long they would have floated because she chomps down 3 of them in the span of a minute or two. She breaks them apart very easily. At first I was worried about the size of them but she knew what she was doing! I want to buy more and put them in a bigger airtight container just to have them on hand at all times!
UPDATE!! I, like another reviewer, have noticed that Mrs Turtle gets very excited when she sees the bag of Chasers in my hand in a way that doesn't happen with the other foods. Also have just noticed that I was feeding her the Shrimp Chasers which may explain the floating!! However I have just ordered the clams to see if she likes those, too.

I feed my yellow bellied slider both the clam and shrimp ones. Just an FYI to people who are just trying these, if you are looking for something that floats, you have to buy the shrimp flavor. The clam ones are very hard and heavy whereas the shrimp are light and crumble. My turtle loves both and even though, the clam flavored ones sink to the bottom, they give him more of a chase because they are much harder to bite into and take much more work for him to eat.
A good tip if you have a young or smaller turtle is to break these up into a few pieces, so they are easier for turtle to grab hold of and eat.
** PLEASE, if you are looking for a treat that floats, get the shrimp flavor ones**
