I purchased this collar because I was at my wit's end with my 2 dogs. my 1 1/2 yr old shetland sheepdog and my 6 month old German Shepard Border collie mix were outstanding, well behaved dogs when separate. But put them together and suddenly all bets are off. The sheltie turned into an ear piercing screecher who incessantly bounced on top of everything in order to be tall enough to engage the shepard mix. The shepard would run at top speed into everything in order to keep up with the sheltie. Not to mention being a puppy he was constantly chewing up anything I had the misfortune of forgetting I had left within mouths reach of him. They were wrecking my home and I found myself at a crossroads. I needed to either find a way to regain order, or one of the dogs had to go. I hated the idea of re-homing one of them. After all "I" was the one who brought them into our family. "I" made the choice to be responsible for their well-being. Throwing an animal out because they are inconvenient is something I abhor. This collar saved the situation. I'm not a fan of the idea of shocking an animal. It seemed almost barbaric to me. But these collars have 4 "modes" a light I can use to warn them, a beep I can use to warn them, a vibration (not a shock) with a setting that allows you to adjust the vibration between the numbers 1 and 100, and a shock with the same 1-100 setting scale. two collars, one remote. with the remote allowing me to switch back and forth between the 2 without having to juggle which remote goes to which collar all the time. I've had it all of 2 days and my sanity has returned. They still kind of start to go at it with each other. which is fine, I don't mind them playing together. But when things start to escalate into destructive mode, I now have a practical de-escalation option that doesn't require me to scream like a banshee and "physically" intervene. No one wants to spank their animals. you feel like a villan, and as though you need to learn more patience. But when everything you've tried has failed, and it seems that there's no other way to make it stop (even if only briefly) you start to find yourself behaving in ways you don't condone. I highly recommend this for anyone who is at that place. Give your animals every possible chance to remain with your family. Better to use a little force and alter the behavior, than to abandon the animal all-together, potentially creating even more problems for the next owner. (Side note) the two fur types are polar opposites. Sheltie has VERY Long silky "hair". Shepard has short, coarse fur. Just use the long prongs for longer haired dogs and make sure you check that it connects when you fasten the collar.

all in all was pleased with the product

came as ordered how ever the instructions need some tweaking, not enough info on levels of use; meaning wasn't real sure about how to put the collar on my pet and no info on how much electric shock to start with per pet weight/size. was a little afraid of overdoing the shock and hurting my pet. all in all was pleased with the product.

We purchased another brand and it works much better.
We got one at it was broken. They quickly sent another one but it just wasn't effective. The shock was consistently happening and the dog was not responding. We purchased another brand and it works much better.
