Did not work for me
My 4 inch turtle really did not like this tub. He not only was too large for the 13 gallon size (I should have read the specs closer), but he never got used to the dark enclosure. He refused to eat and spent all his time struggling against the side of the tub. After two weeks I put him back in a clear tub and he calmed down. Also, he had a difficult time climbing up the ribbed sides to the basking area. There is no traction on the ribs and he would slid back down. In addition, he would drag the substrate in the basking area back into the water side and quickly clog the filter. Although I thought the tub was esthetically pleasing to the eye and sounded like a good thing, my turtle had other thoughts.

Zoo Med Turtle Tub, 13 Gallon
By Mitten Mew
This is better than what I expected! I just recently added another turtle to the turtle family. I rescued him and thought that maybe he would enjoy some friends... sadly that was not the case. For a semi aquatic turtle he is pretty interesting. He can't swim like my turtles who live in a 55 gallon tank almost full. he prefers to be outside his tank he doesn't like water too much. So as I was looking around for something that fits to what he likes I found this. It is for sure cheaper than anything else you could buy plus its made from 100% recycled plastic which is great! This is about the size of a 40-50 gallon with a good amount of water room and a decent amount of land area. Only thing that I don't like is the drop from the land to the water. It would't be so bad if I had more water in there but he has to adjust to different leaves slowly. He is about 5" and lived in a 10 gallon his hole life with maybe 3" of water. So far he loves it. I've never seen him so active and happy. I'm so happy about this purchase. I think that this could hold two adult turtles and for sure one adult turtle about 7" big.

nice set up overall
By Mesa Mike
After trying to make my own water/land contraption, I gave up and bought this one. I do like it and keep in on a platforms with wheels because it's too heavy and dangerous (with lights on it) to move safely even a few feet.
I do wish the tub had a screen cover so I could place lights on it and keep out unwanted critters -- from dogs wanting a drink to flies and mice or whatever else. I also don't like the bare bulbs hanging over the water; should one shatter (which we all know does happen), what a mess it would be to clean up and, if I'm not there when it happens, it could cause serious harm if a curious turtle ingests the glass or cuts itself on a shard. I've tried window screen, which serves the purpose, but the mesh is too small to let in enough UVB (I use a meter, and the light was cut 60%). Hardware cloth (1/4" mesh) is good but the mesh is too big to keep out unwelcome insects or glass shards. So I'm back to trying something makeshift with this tub anyway.
I did find some tubs with screens at [...]
