3Did not seem to improve arthritis symptoms for my horse
    By Amazon Customer
I used this for several months on my arthritic horse and I can't say for sure that it really had a significant effect. The research on whether glucosamine actually improves joint health is still questionable, but I thought it was worth a try, and this product seemed to be the best rated and most comprehensive for the price. After not seeing an effect I discontinued this product. I have since found that regular, light exercise is much more beneficial and makes my horse comfortable enough that she doesn't need any joint supplements.

I would not dissuade someone from trying this on their horse, as they may find that it works for them. But don't continue feeding an expensive supplement if you find that it does not seem to be improving quality of life.

Since putting my boy on this, I have noticed in general he seems much more comfortable. He's not as stiff coming out of his stall and using his hocks much better. He is getting older (11) and I want to proactively try and head off any joint problems I can. I take glucosamine and condroitin and it has really helped me as well. As with any supplement, it may work for some horses, not others. The only way to see if it will work is to try it. I would give it for at least 3-6 months depending on your individual horses symptoms/age, etc. All the vet students at the barn give it to their horses as well, so a good endorsement. Found it cheapest through Amazon.

    4Cosequin ASU for horses
    By Ranger55
I have been using this product for a bout 6-7 weeks. My horse is 17 years old and was a "cowboy" horse his first 12 years. He seems to have arthrites in his front legs and back. The past four years he has been getting stiffer as far as his movements are concerned. I have to say I noticed a difference on the positive side since using this product. It didn't cure him but made him move a little smoother. He definately doesn't move as choppy as he was. He walks and jogs smoother but still can't gallop without pain and stiffness. I will continue to use in for a few more months and see if he doesn't improve even more. I am hoping. As always I got a better using Amazon to purchase.
