    4Birds seem to love it.

I bought this to use as the base for making my own seed blocks using unflavored gelatin as a binder.

It's attracting Cardinals, Tufted Titmice, Red Bellied Woodpeckers, Doves, Jays, Red Shouldered Blackbirds and the more common 'run of the mill' types.

I'd had problems with store bought seed blocks attracting squirrels, so I use this as a base and add roughly 2 cups of red pepper flakes to the entire bag as a deterrent. Birds are immune to capsaicin (they have no receptors), but the squirrels hate it, so with the hot pepper mixed in they won't touch it.

I also mixed in a cup or so of unsalted, shelled peanuts as an extra treat for the woodpeckers before mixing it up with unflavored gelatin and packing it into blocks for use in my basic cage feeder.

Within 3 minutes of placing the first block of this it was swarmed by the birds. At one point I had 2 woodpeckers, 4 cardinals, 2 titmice on the feeder and couple of doves and a decent group of sparrows under the feeder.

My only possible complaint is that I've found what seem to be a considerable amount of 'trash' in the mix in the 4 cups I've used so far. Bits of sticks, leaves and rock. It's not a huge amount, but it's more than I expected, so I'm deducting a star from the rating for that.

It's not enough to keep me from buying this again though. The birds love it, it allows me to customize the mix for squirrel deterrence, and it's still considerably more economical than buying the pre-made, squirrel attracting blocks available locally.

5and this mix attracted a great variety, including two sets of cardinals
    By kkbrew
This bird seed was just what we needed for the bird feeder I ordered as a gift. My elderly mother-in-law spends hours watching the birds at the feeder while she is in her wheelchair, and this mix attracted a great variety, including two sets of cardinals. Now much of dinner conversation is about what birds came to the feeder to eat. Great price, quick delivery, and excellent quality. Yay!

    5Birds galore!
    By T. Landry
Had birds flocking to it the same day I put some out in springtime! Cardinals galore! I usually don't see them often here but now there are several in my tree and feeder. It also attracted blue jays, wrens and doves. Put a water supply out and put this food near a tree and enjoy your feathered eaters!
